(PHOTO) LoJack® System Helps Texas Department of Public Safety Recover Stolen 2013 Kawasaki Mule

The contractor arrived at his construction site in 6100 block of West Fuqua and discovered the Kawasaki Mule utility vehicle he had rented missing from the site. He immediately contacted the Houston Police Department and filed a theft report.
The Houston PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the State and Federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Kawasaki Mule. A State Trooper and deputies from Austin County Texas picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Kawasaki Mule with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the Trooper tracked the Kawasaki to a farm located off Verm & Mixville Road in Sealy, Texas. The State Trooper along with deputies from Austin County Texas received written consent to search the property and located the Kawasaki Mule inside a small utility tent next to a residence. The property owner stated they purchased the Mule from Craig’s list for $7,000.00 from a person known as Dave. The public VIN was removed and the ignition was attacked but no other visual damage to the vehicle. This is an ongoing investigation.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Kawasaki Mule in April 2015 via Commercial Sales.
