The owner of a 2010 Mercedes 550 contacted the Dallas Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen.  The owner was having a party at his apartment and when it was over, he noticed that his car keys and his Mercedes were missing.  He did not give anybody permission to take his Mercedes.

The Dallas PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mercedes.

A short while later, officers from the Austin Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mercedes with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Mercedes and observed it traveling eastbound in the 600 block of W. Flaughter.  Officers were able to stop the stolen Mercedes and arrest the driver.  This Mercedes was recovered in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2010 Mercedes in June of 2010 at Mercedes Benz Manhattan in New York, New York.
