The owner of this Hyundai Elantra contacted the Pomona Police Department and reported their vehicle had been stolen. The officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Hyundai.

Within less than one hour from the activation, deputies from the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department Chino Hills Station picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Hyundai with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Hyundai to the 13000 block of Peyton Ave.  Deputies located the Hyundai parked and unoccupied in a parking lot of a large business.  The deputies set up surveillance on the Hyundai and within a few minutes observed two female adults walk to the vehicle, open the drivers and passengers door and enter.  At that time the deputies deployed on the Hyundai and detained both subjects.  A field investigation resulted in the finding of “shaved keys” on their person as well as narcotics and felony arrest warrants.  Both suspects were arrested without further incident and later booked for possession of stolen property as well as the other related charges.  The undamaged Hyundai was stored and later released to the victim.

The LoJack® Stolen Vehicle Recovery System was installed in this Hyundai in December 2014 at Ford of Upland.
