A dealership in Gwinnett, GA, recently discovered it was the victim of fraud. The purchaser of a 2014 Audi S7 had provided false information, which was not discovered until the thief had departed with the vehicle. With assistance from the LoJack® system that was already installed in the S7, local law enforcement recovered it safely and took the culprit into custody.

On May 30th, 2014, the sales manager from the dealership contacted the Gwinnett County Police. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Audi.

Within a short time, troopers with the Georgia State Patrol received the silent homing signal from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Audi was located traveling in Atlanta and, after a brief pursuit with help from Atlanta Police, a traffic stop was performed and the driver was taken into custody. The S7, valued at $87,000, was retrieved and soon returned to the dealership.
