What’s a good way to top off a nice restaurant meal? A tasty dessert or a hot cup of coffee are two favorite suggestions. Finishing your dining experience by finding out your car has been stolen? Not so pleasurable. This Concord, CA diner found his 2013 Honda Accord missing when he went to leave the eatery, but luckily he chose to have the LoJack® system installed when he purchased his car, so law enforcement was able to return it to him before it was time for his next meal.

The Accord’s owner realized that someone had taken his car keys from his jacket pocket while he was eating. He immediately contacted Concord Police, who verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into their state and federal crime computers. This automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the vehicle, which was installed at Concord Honda in Concord, CA.

A short while later, an East Bay Regional Parks Police Helicopter picked up the homing signals from the Honda on its on-board LoJack tracking computer.   Coordinating with local police agencies, the helicopter tracked the stolen car to Antioch.  Antioch Police then took over the tracking and located the Accord abandoned in a side street parking lot. The Honda, valued at $30,000, was soon returned to its relieved owner.
