Imagine for just a moment you arrive home from grocery shopping, you park your car and begin unloading the bags. As you head into your house with your eggs and bread, you suddenly hear the screech sounds of tires. You go back outside and realize that your car has actually just been stolen.

Unfortunately, crimes of opportunity such as what we I’ve just described aren’t make believe. They are real and they happen all the time all over the country.

Thankfully, the victim in today’s blog post equipped their vehicle with a LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery System and was able to get their car back in nearly record time.

On the morning of Monday, September 3, 2012, the owner of this 2008 Toyota FJ Cruiser was unloading items from his vehicle. While inside his house, a thief got in his Toyota FJ Cruiser and drove away. He immediately contacted the Snohomish County (WA) Sheriff’s Office to report the theft of the vehicle.  Snohomish County SO verified the theft and entered the vehicle identification number into the state and federal crime computers. That process automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Toyota.
Just eight minutes later, deputies with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office and officers with the Everett Police Department received the silent LoJack homing signal and began tracking the stolen Toyota. The Toyota FJ Cruiser was observed being driven by a juvenile female driver and a felony stop was made by Everett Police.  She was turned over to Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, who handled the arrest and charges.

The LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery System was installed in this Toyota FJ Cruiser in May of 2010 when it was purchased at Titus Will Toyota.   The approximate value of the vehicle was $28,000
