Imagine the shock and anger of realizing your car has been stolen. Then consider the 180 degree turn in emotion when you realize that the LoJack stolen vehicle recovery device you just purchased less than a month ago actually worked and it helped police locate your stolen vehicle in less than one hour.

Well it’s not a dream, we hear about stolen vehicle recovery stories like this on a daily basis including the story below.

On a warm summer day in August 2012, a California man contacted the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department to report his vehicle had been stolen.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle.

Within 30 minutes from activation, a deputy from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department tracked the signal to the area of Valley Blvd east of the 57 Freeway and waited for backup.

When the backup arrived, the deputies tracked and located the vehicle parked on a cul-de-sac in Pomona.  As they approached the vehicle, they observed a male sleeping in the back seat and proceeded to arrest the suspect without further incident. The suspect, who was from Arizona, was found to be in possession of burglary tools. He was later booked for grand theft auto and possession of burglary tools.

The happy owner of this vehicle had purchased the LoJack stolen vehicle recovery system just over one month ago and mentioned to the officers he was very glad he had purchased it.  LoJack was installed in the vehicle by CarMax in Duarte, CA.
