Classic 1984 Chevrolet El Camino Tracked and Recovered-Second Vehicle Stolen, Belonging to Same Owner!

On April 27, 2011, the owner of a 1984 Chevrolet El Camino Classic drove to a local store and parked and secured her vehicle. According to the victim, she exited the store after a 20 minute period and saw that her El Camino was gone. At that time, she received a call from the LoJack Early Warning device on her keys confirming her vehicle was on the move-without her authorization.
She immediately called the local Police Department and reported her vehicle stolen. This action automatically activated the on board LoJack system. Within 3 minutes of activation, deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Walnut Station picked up the silent LoJack signal. One of the deputies gave out the description and direction of where the signal was coming from while another deputy drove to the described area and located the vehicle parked and unoccupied in a parking lot.
Assisting deputies responded and set up containment. Within 15 minutes, the deputies observed a Maroon Chevrolet containing two males pull up next to the Chevrolet El Camino. One suspect then entered the stolen vehicle at which time, the deputies descended on the vehicles and arrested the suspect in the El Camino. The second suspect sped away and that vehicle was later located 4 miles away. No suspect was located at that time, however, deputies have a lead on the second suspect.
The suspect in the El Camino, a parolee, admitted he knew the El Camino was stolen, but did not admit to the theft. He was later booked on several felony charges.
The El Camino was stored and later processed for evidence. Deputies indicated the minimal damaged to the El Camino was the ignition. The owner of the El Camino was contacted and indicated that this was her second car that had been stolen and the only one to get recovered, thanks to LoJack.
