LoJack® System Helps Arizona DPS Highway Patrol Recover Stolen Ingersoll-Rand Front Loader

The owners of a business contacted the Phoenix Police Department to report that someone broke into their commercial yard overnight and stole their truck and flatbed trailer with an Ingersoll-Rand front loader that was already loaded on the trailer.
The police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ingersoll-Rand front loader. A short while later officers from the Arizona DPS Highway Patrol picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ingersoll-Rand front loader with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the front loader to the west valley, near the Arizona 303 Loop and Bethany Home Road.
The stolen front loader with LoJack was located abandoned off the side of the road, approximately 25 miles from where it was stolen. The suspects had unloaded the Ingersoll-Rand front loader and left it sitting at this remote location. The Ingersoll-Rand front loader was in good condition when recovered by police. The owners were contacted and responded to the scene where they took possession of the front loader. Officers did not locate the truck and flatbed trailer that were not equipped with LoJack and both units are still listed as stolen. The LoJack® System was installed in the Ingersoll-Rand front loader in January 2006 in Phoenix, Arizona, by Commercial Sales.
