The owner of a 1997 Toyota Camry contacted the Baltimore City Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen during an armed carjacking which occurred in the 2400 block Eutaw Place in Baltimore City, Maryland.

The Baltimore City PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

A short while later detectives in the Regional Auto Theft Team picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Toyota to the 1800 block Bloomingdale Avenue in Baltimore City. At that location, officers observed the Toyota occupied by the suspects that were wanted for committing the armed carjacking. Detectives were able to stop the Toyota and arrest four suspects in this offense.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 1997 Toyota Camry during November, 2000, via a Direct Sale in Dade County, Florida.
