This case involves a Nissan Sentra stolen in Albuquerque, NM that was recovered without damage the same day it was stolen thanks to the LoJack® system that was installed when the car was purchased.

On January 28th, 2014, the Nissan’s owner contacted the Albuquerque Police to report that her vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the NCIC state and federal crime computer. This action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Sentra, which was installed at ABC Nissan in Phoenix, AZ.

A short while later, a trooper from the New Mexico State Police and officers from the Albuquerque PD picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Nissan was located in a parking lot with a suspect in the driver’s seat who was taken into custody. The undamaged Sentra was retrieved and soon returned to its happy owner.
