The Lexus HS250S in this next case was being detailed at a dealership in Parkland, WA, when the attendant left it alone and running for just a moment- which is all it took for an enterprising thief to hop in and drive it away. Luckily, the car’s owner had the LoJack® system installed when he purchased his Lexus, so police were able to track in down in less than an hour.

The theft was discovered when the owner arrived to claim his car and it could not be found. The dealership contacted Seattle Police who, after verifying the theft, entered the vehicle’s information into the state and federal crime computers. That process automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the HS250S, which was installed at (Dealer name withheld).

Just a few minutes later, a Seattle PD officer received the homing signal from the Lexus on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol car. The officer located the car at South Willow Street & Frontenac Street. A suspect in the car was arrested and booked. The undamaged Lexus was soon returned to its relieved owner.
